Mission San Luis Rey

Mission San Luis Rey

Built in 1798, San Luis Rey is the Largest of the California Mission and is a National Historic Landmark

Mission San Luis Rey serves the surrounding community through its historic church, museum, cemetery, retreat center, and special cultural events.  The Mission's 210 year old historical buildings are unreinforced structures and are in need of a seismic retrofit.  The Hind Foundation's grant of $100,000 helps restore the Mission and ensure the historical integrity of the original design.
