The historic Dallidet Adobe was a three room home of Pierre Hyppolite Dallidet, a native of France, who settled in San Luis Obispo in 1853 and became a vineyardist.  The Dallidet Adobe and Gardens is considered one of the most romantic and appealing areas of San Luis Obispo.   The Mediterranean garden includes redwood trees, some original trees and shrubs up to 125 feet tall, roses and other various eye catching delights.

The San Luis Obispo County Historical Society oversees the property and works to carry out its mission of promoting the understanding and appreciation of San Luis Obispo County's historical and cultural heritage.

The Hind Foundation provided a $55,000 grant for restoration, repairs and upgrades of the Adobe to keep the adobe at a more stable and comfortable temperature for visitors and to better preserve the museum's artifacts.
