In 2011, the Hind Foundation granted $2,500 to Studios on the Park (Studios) to fund student scholarships for children supported by local nonprofit organizations, such as CASA of San Luis Obispo County and the Boys and Girls Clubs, to experience art education. Studios arts education classes are offered to over 700 children who are transported in from two underserved elementary schools. At the end of the classes, Studios holds an exhibition of all the artwork created by the children and hosts a reception for each school and their students. Each child who received a scholarship had the experience of taking a field trip to Studios for a three-hour art class, creating a finished work of art, exhibiting their artwork alongside their peers, and participating in the reception.
