Hahn Hall Renovation & Campus Improvements
For Music Academy of the West
In 2008, the Hind Foundation granted $100,000 to the Music Academy of the West to contribute to the $15.5 million Hahn Hall renovation. Completed in 10 months, Hahn Hall was inaugurated at the start of the Music Academy's 61st annual Summer School and Festival in June 2008. The renovated hall features seating for 350, outstanding acoustics, and a host of top-flight audience amenities and facility upgrades. The Hahn Hall was the centerpiece of a broader campus makeover, which included a widened main driveway, new lighting, and landscaping that replicated the campus' original design.
• Award-Winning Recognition
The Hahn Hall was recognized by Santa Barbara Beautiful with their prestigious President’s Award in September 2009. "The President's Award is one of our premier honors," said Santa Barbara Beautiful President, Kerry Methne, "The Music Academy's forethought and stewardship in providing this outstanding venue for the performance arts is deserving of community recognition."
• International Recognition
The improvements to the Hahn Hall helped internationally recognize the Academy as a premier summer schools for gifted young classical musicians.
• Continued Revenue
During the non-summer months Hall host MET HD Live and the facility is opened to 37 peer organizations who are eager to host their performances in the acoustically exceptional hall.
“Thanks to the Hind Foundation and other generous donors, the Hahn Hall’s acoustic and programmatic improvements now offers a venue that properly hosts the talents of our fellows and faculty, while also providing a resource for 37 peer organizations.”
