New Historical Home for a Nonprofit

In 2010, the Hind Foundation granted $800,000 to the Nonprofit Support Center of Santa Barbara (NSC) to fund the purchase of a new, historical home for the Foundation. On November 18, 2010, the foundation opened escrow on the Barneberg House, a beautiful, historical, 100-year-old residence at 550 Dana St. in San Luis Obispo. Through the vision and guidance of the original founders in 1998, the Community Foundation has raised the impact of charitable giving to new heights in the local community. In only 12 years, the Community Foundation has grown its endowment to $26 million, and granted over $15 million to the community through its 200 funds and scholarships.
