New State-of-the-Art Audio System

In 2011, the Hind Foundation granted $50,000 to the San Luis Obispo Little Theatre (SLOLT) for the purchase and installation of a state-of-the-art audio system for the main theatre. The new audio system includes new body/handheld microphones, coverage microphones, mixing boards, amplifiers, subwoofers, intercoms, speakers, and portable sound equipment specifically designed for musicians. These capital improvements provide a more enjoyable theatrical experience for patrons, a more professional technical experience for directors and artistic teams, and, most importantly, more significant and practical training experiences for the Little Theatre’s technical volunteers.

The SLOLT is proud to be one of the oldest continuously running community theatres in the nation, and can now add that they have the latest technology in audio capabilities to their repertoire.

•    Hands-On Experience
Home of the acclaimed Academy of Creative Theatre, SLOLT helps young performers develop life-long theatrical skills. Their new audio system gives students a hands-on experience with the latest audio technology, increasing their chances for advanced job opportunities after graduation.

•    Volunteer Interest
The new technology has increased the interest of potential volunteers to dedicate time to the theatre.
