For Laguna Canyon Foundation
In 2008, the Hind Foundation granted $5,000 to Laguna Canyon Foundation (LCF) for the expansion of the Laguna Coast Wilderness Nursery. Founded in 2003, the focus of the Nursery is restoration work within the park, including seed collection, propagating container plants, and assistance with restoration planning. The nursery facility propagated 2,000 plants annually, but the success of the program outgrew its capacity. The expansion of the facility enabled the nursery to increase it propagation to an additional 300-500 shrubs and trees annually.
The LCF provides field-based, environmental education programs and activities for both disadvantaged youth and children who live in surrounding communities.
