Funding Guidelines

  • The Hind Foundation does not fully fund projects; the grantee must demonstrate the organization’s capacity to raise a substantial amount of the funds needed to complete the project.
  • Non-profit organizations requesting capital funding for construction, installation and renovation of permanent structures on private property will be limited to the amount of funding.
  • The Hind Foundation funds California 501© (3) organizations that have been in existence for more than one year and receive the majority of their funding support from the community in which they are located.
  • Grants are awarded on a one-year basis but may be paid over more than one year, if appropriate.
  • Organizations that have received funding should allow two full years to elapse between grant proposals.
  • Organizations may only apply once a year.
  • The Hind Foundation does not make grants to individuals, endowments, national organizations, Community Foundations, private foundations under section 509(a)(1), (2), and (3) of the Internal Revenue Code or organizations based outside the United States.
  • The Foundation avoids organizations primarily supported by endowment funds or by government grants.

Project Guidelines

The Hind Foundation funds new construction projects, enhancements and improvements to existing structures that support the Hind Foundation goals

The Hind Foundation funds land acquisition and preservation with the sole intention of open space or protection of ecosystems and plant and wildlife.

The Hind Foundation funds the restoration, preservation or acquisition of projects with historical significance.
