Santa Barbara Botanical Garden
The Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, founded in 1926, is dedicated to scientific research, education, conservation and display of California plants featuring over 1,000 taxa of native plants across 78 acres. The Garden is replacing an antiquated irrigation system with a technologically sophisticated, centrally controlled water delivery method. The new computerized process will allow individual irrigation regimes to specially meet the needs of diverse plant collections and displays. Plant losses due to irrigation problems will be significantly reduced.
The Hind Foundation has provided an $116,000 grant for Phase Two of the system’s installation.
