Growing Grounds Farm

Growing Grounds Farm is a non-profit wholesale nursery and farm. Since 1984 they have been providing employment, vocational training, and socialization opportunities to adults with mental illness.

GGR offers California natives plants for restoration and mitigation practices for the San Luis Obispo County area. Many plants are locally collected in the field to be promulgated at the nursery so that farmers and conservationist can replant depleted areas with native stock. GGR is a wonderful example of providing employment and training for adults with special needs as well enriching our open spaces. The Hind Foundation has provided a refurbishing grant of $38,005 to upgrade existing greenhouses and needed equipment.
